Eye Candy #241 - "Untraceable"

Untraceable: Though very much cliche-ridden and in the same vein as your average psycho killer-procedurals these days (granted, they are ALL like that, so you can't really fault it for sticking with the tried and true, just enjoy when someone brings something new to the table), "Untraceable" isn't complete hooey. Diane Lane is an FBI "cyber-spy" who comes across a website where people are being killed in real-time streaming video by an unidentified killer. The killer hijacks other peoples' computers, servers, cameras, cars, all in the name of his own agenda which smells a lot like the dish best served cold. Colin Hanks plays a fellow cyber-spy (and sounds an awful lot like his father). The problem with the killers in these kinds of movies is they have to be freaky, yet normal, giant weirdos, yet surprising. Setting up a freaky weirdo that's no surprise takes the fun out of it. Diane Lane has certainly made worse movies (you seen "Judge Dredd"?). Woodchuck sez, "Middle of the road."
