Eye Candy #210 - "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Peter (Jason Segel) writes the theme music for hit TV show “Crime Scene”, which also stars his girlfriend Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). When she dumps him, he proceeds to nose-dive emotionally into booze and promiscuous sex. His stepbrother Bryan recommends he take a trip to Hawaii to clear his head, which Peter does, only to end up at the same resort as Sarah and her new British rock star boyfriend Aldous Snow (Russell Brand). And while going to great lengths to appear not like a stalker, he ends up looking EXACTLY like a stalker. He does, however, meet Rachel (Mila Kunis), a young woman who works at the hotel and ends up growing closer to her during his time there. Quite a few of the “Knocked Up”/”Superbad” gang are here in support (including Jonah Hill, who has never looked and acted more like Emilio Estevez than now). This is really a very funny movie, with perfect casting in the leads. Bell is, as usual, crazy smoking hot (even when she cries, she’s hot) and I don’t think I’ve ever liked Mila Kunis more. Segel was surprisingly good (but he’s also an unknown, hence the relatively low box office; he was the naked roommate in “Knocked Up“). A smart script, with genuinely interesting dialogue, and a brief smattering of full frontal male nudity (no kidding). Another winner from the Judd Apatow juggernaut. Woodchuck sez, “Me likey.”
