Eye Candy #200 - "The Hunting Party"
The Hunting Party: Starring Richard Gere and Terrence Howard as two newsmen tracking down war criminals in the wilds of Serbia, each for their own reasons, "The Hunting Party" is an entertaining film dealing with a subject that gets scant attention in today's media (the basis for the screenplay is the still-ongoing hunt for Serbian war criminal Ratko Mladic). For all their worldliness and experience, both men soon find themselves over their head in their search for "The Fox", the man responsible for the death of Gere's character's lover years prior. Perhaps a little too blatantly heavy on the "we have a responsibility as reporters to let people know" and little too vague on "but our motivations are really things like revenge and foolhardiness", I'm sure this film will drive some people to consider a career in journalism. Yippee. The film is well-made, it's just missing something to put it over the top. Woodchuck sez, "Worth a look."
