Eye Candy #160 - "Ball Out - Gary the Tennis Coach"

Balls Out - Gary the Tennis Coach: What can I say, it’s a raunchy teen comedy with a heart. Playing the kind of character he can now play in his sleep, Seann William Scott (who never really did get beyond Stiffler, did he?) is Gary, a former tennis prodigy who walked away from the sport years ago and we now find him in Nebraska as a high school janitor. Through a random encounter with the high school tennis coach (Randy Quaid), Gary finds himself as an assistant tennis coach for the high school’s relatively hopeless tennis team. Once Quaid’s character unexpectedly drops dead, Gary steps in as (co-) head coach to drive his young men to greatness. Sure, it includes rousing speeches given while wearing nothing but a jock strap, crapping on their rivals home courts, or buying hookers to make his players “men”, but Gary is such a legitimately nice guy (granted, still an almost complete tool) and Scott’s performance so winning that you can’t help but like this movie. Don't ask me what Leonor Varela is doing in this picture. Woodchuck sez, “Me likey.”
